Visiting Hours

Please observe these guidelines when visiting patients at Saint John Hospital.

Generally, only two visitors at a time are permitted at the patient's bedside. Visitors may be asked to leave at any time to facilitate the patient's care. Children under 14 years of age should be attended at all times while in the Hospital. Please check with the nurse before bringing a child to visit a patient. If you have any questions or concerns contact your nurse or the clinical supervisor/resource coordinator.

General Patient Areas
8 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Women's Center
Fathers are considered privileged persons in the Women's Center and may visit any time. Children under 14 years of age are not allowed in the Women's Center, unless accompanied by an adult and are not ill. Please ask your nurse before entering the patient's room. For other visitors, we discourage visitation between 8 a.m. and noon. This allows time for education and personal care of our moms and babies.

Pediatrics
One parent may stay in the child's room after 9 p.m. Ask the nurse about a rollaway cot if you are planning to spend the night. For other information, refer to the Pediatric Floor Rules you were given at your child's admission.

Intensive Care
Visiting hours are open except from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. to promote confidentiality during shift report.

Emergency Room
Due to patient confidentiality, visitors are limited to one to two family members or significant others in the Emergency Room. When the Emergency Room is busy, we will ask visitors to be seated in the waiting room.

Senior Behavioral Health Center
Visitors are discouraged between the hours of 8 a.m. and noon because of therapy sessions and other scheduled patient activities.
