Medical-Surgical Unit
The Medical-Surgical Unit is a 23 bed patient unit that cares for medical, surgical, cardiac, pediatric and skilled nursing patients.
Nurses, nursing assistants and doctors work as a team to diagnose and treat many types of illness, and a variety of medical and surgical conditions.
They educate patients and their families in appropriate after-discharge care and in the prevention of illness.
Nurses carry pagers linked to patient cardiac monitors that allow nursing staff to check patients' cardiac rhythms even if they are away from the nursing station.
Skilled nursing is available for patients who have been hospitalized for a minimum of three days during illness with a focus on rehabilitation.
